|I have this vision in my head of what this room would look like with beautifully restored woodwork... since I'm still relatively naive about what it's going to take to strip down and refinish everything, I'm going to give it a shot. Though I hope I'm not wrong, I've come to the conclusion that it's going to be best to remove the top and bottom detail pieces from the baseboard moulding. This will allow for clean paint/moulding edges of the wall, and it's going to make refinishing the floor a lot easier...
And this way I can take all the moulding down to the basement where I can set up a stripping station without making a bigger mess upstairs (no, no, I promise I won't let this turn into something like those doorknobs from our bedroom... yes, they're still in the basement!)
With most of the moulding off, I turned my attention to some other details, including sanding down the walls, some plaster repair work, and taking a look a what's going to need to be done in the closet...
