The Big MoveFriday, June 22, 2007
The big day has finally arrived! Katherine picked up the girls in Oakland on Wednesday, and her mom flew in to help. In addition, Katherine's brother, Kris, flew in late last night to help with the heavy lifting - so I think we're all set. Around 7:00 a.m. Katherine, Taylor, and I drove out to the U-haul center to pick up our truck. We ended up with the largest truck they make - 26 feet long! After returning to the apartment, we spent about four hours loading the truck and cleaning up the apartment in Baltimore.

Arriving in Philadelphia around 4:30 p.m., our first goal was to make sure that we got all the beds set up. Of course they were packed in the middle-front of the truck, so we had to unload most of the other furniture to get them all out! The first bed piece to enter the house was our California King mattress, which needed to go up to the second floor. As you can see, it was quite a tight fit (though not quite as bad as the ordeal from our first experience of getting the Queen box spring up to the third floor!)

After dinner we decided to bring in the forty or so boxes from the front of the truck, thus completing the transportation of all our things from Baltimore to Philadelphia in a single day!
